Clandestine, protected, incognito
Illuminating the dream of an exceptional escape… Our clandestine restaurant is pure An American in Paris or Midnight in Paris, in their restored versions, for an intimate, very private screening. Behind the 19th-century façade, once home to À la Renommée des Herbes Cuites, the challenge was to bring the space back to life and craft a decor entirely from scratch.
Within the walls of this speakeasy, an unforgettable line lingers, spoken by Paul Bates (played masterfully by Michael Sheen): Nostalgia is denial, denial of a painful present.
Here, leather banquettes embody the American actors of our story. Waxed wood panelings, tar-smoked, stand as our French heroines. The warmth of spirits that spark fevered conversations… The New York banker’s chair fused with classical armrests, antique silverware, and the private collection of paintings… All bear witness to an attitude, a way of life shaped by unforgettable novels.
